Aluminium is used more and more in packaging because of its range of excellent properties. It's less dense and lighter; Excellent machinability, easy to press into various complex shapes; Strong corrosion resistance, will not rust; Excellent barrier, shading and fragrance protection, which can effectively protect the product; High thermal conductivity, easy to aluminum canned sterilization; Silver-white color, beautiful color, and light reflectivity, easy to print, good printing effect; Non-toxic and tasteless, it will not bring peculiar smell to the inside food due to the escape of aluminum ions; Waste aluminum containers can be recycled and remelted without environmental pollution.

Aluminum packaging materials are mainly pure aluminum, aluminum alloy and aluminum foil.
(1) Pure aluminum plate and alloy aluminum plate
Pure aluminum plate contains more than 99.9% aluminum, thickness is generally between 0.25~0.3mm. It is soft, low strength, so it is less used as a packaging material, but also useful for wine containers.
The commonly used aluminum alloys on the packaging are aluminum magnesium alloy and aluminum manganese alloy, also known as anti-rust aluminum alloy. The strength and hardness of aluminum alloy plate are obviously improved, the corrosion resistance is strong, the polishing is good, the appearance of long-term preservation is still bright. Aluminum alloy plate is used to make canned containers, fish and meat canned; More is the packaged beverage, will not make the beverage appear muddy and flavor changes and other phenomena.

(2) aluminum foil
Aluminum foil is formed by rolling pure aluminum with purity of 99.5% or above and thickness of 0.005~0.2mm. It is light, shiny, reflective ability, can be used for thermal insulation packaging; Good barrier property, impervious to gas and water vapor; Easy to process, easy to process into various shapes; Convenient for printing, gluing, painting, coloring, embossing, printing, etc. Strong adaptability to temperature, stable shape at high or low temperature; Good shading and fragrance - preserving properties. The biggest disadvantage of aluminum foil is that it does not withstand acid and strong alkali, cannot be welded, and the tear strength is low.
Aluminum foil is widely used in packaging, it can be individually packaged goods; More are made with paper, plastic film and other composite materials, used for food, cigarettes, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and other packaging, can be made into cooking bags, packaging convenient food and cooking food.
